lavandula:

construction of givenchy haute couture spring/summer 2011 gown by riccardo tisci, in which construction of this dress alone required up to 2,000 hours of cutting alone and 4,000 hours of sewing including applique of a japanese crane. meeting the haute couture standards, the couture rules designate that no gown can be finally cut without the customer being measured and no seam be finished with a machine, everything designed and finished by hand. tisci was inspired by both the traditional japan, the 18th century art and pottery, and the modern sci-fiction japan, the anime and neon technology.
